Ahmed Lauds IPNA Over Health Intervention

The Kwara state governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has commended effort of members of Igbomina Project North America (IPNA) for not forgetting their kith and kindred back home.

 

Governor Ahmed gave the commendation on recently when members of the group paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

 

The governor noted that indigenes of the state living in Diaspora have a rich history of collaborating with government to impact on the lives of the people of the state, he explained that the initiative of setting up IPNA is commendable and a welcome development.

 

He disclosed that government would welcome efforts from well-meaning indigenes of the state and stressed that when well-meaning individuals partner with government to bring succour to the people of the state, the result is always remarkable and outstanding. Gov. Ahmed therefore assured members of the group of the readiness of his administration to partner with them in everyway possible.

 

He acknowledged that government is faced with a huge responsibility of providing for the needs of the people, said it is a welcome development for the group to want to intervene in ameliorating challenges in the health sector. He said their efforts in evacuating accident victims from the high ways will go a long way in saving lives on the roads.

 

Earlier, the chairman of the group, Alhaji Taiwo Salawu told the governor that the group’s efforts was borne out of a desire to positively touch the lives of the people and also give back to the society from what they achieved from their places of residences.

 

He explained that the visit was to intimate government of their activities and sought for cooperation so as to guide against hindrance from state officers when the project finally kicks off.

 

Giving a background to the establishment of the group, Alhaji Salawu said the group signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU with Landmark University on October 26, 2016, to ensure that medical care is available on major highways in the state and also in the area of provision of Community Healthcare. He stated that the inauguration of the project will take place at Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Wednesday.

 

The chairman, who disclosed that Caucasians, Igbo and even indigenes of Ilorin are members of IPNA, said the group is a non-profit organization with the aim to complement government’s efforts in bringing the best of medicare to the people by all ways possible.

 

“We are not bothered about what will not make it work, we are bothered about what will make it work because we believe nothing is impossible,” he said.

 

The chairman was accompanied on the occasion by his vice, Otunba Bode Ojeleye; the Project Implementation Committee chairman, Bar. Olasunkanmi Olorunnisola and the liaison officer, Engineer Stephen Agboola Ojeleye.
