At the Sokoto conference room of the prestigious Transcorp Hilton hotel, young and active citizens of the country gathered on Sundays to meet and rub minds on how to have a remarkable footprint in the sands of time.

The atmosphere in the room reflected to some extent the general atmosphere in this pristine hotel -serene, relaxing yet serious. The parallel side of the coin is the leisure aspect which was absent in the second floor of the hotel. While some in the hotel premises are around to enjoy and catch all the fun in the air and around the Transcorp Hilton, members of the ASO chapter of the Junior Chambers International (JCI) meets on how to better and effect positive change in the locality.

At the April 2015 General Assembly, the JCI-Aso had a Past President of the association and a JCI Senator, Rotimi Adewole as the speaker. He recalled how the first blow to his life when he was wrongly accused of theft and it had a negative impact on his mother. He was however quick to let JCI members and friends know that despite his innocence he was not let down and did not lose focus of his determination to succeed in life.

In his early teens, he engaged in youthful exuberance which would have seen him derailed in his ambition. To the extent his father was not in good terms with him. However the death of his father was the straw that broke the Carmel back. This death restored him back to his senses. Eventually he went on to be what he intend to be despite all the daunting challenges on his way. As a young man he said, he wanted to be an accountant and eventually work in a bank, dress in good clothes and looks neat all the time, but as God would have it he went on to study insurance not even in the University but in the Polytechnics.

Now as a successful Insurance Practitioner and Chief Executive Officer of Sam-Vic Insurance Brokers Limited, Rotimi Adewole is a voice to reckon with in the industry. Letting the gathering into the secret of his success. He hinted that, he tries to find that particular thing that gives him a signal. “Anytime I am on a path and there are challenges then I know that is my way”. He pointed out to the group. He said that, “money should not be the first thing, career and sincerity should be the first.” He pushes on that members of the organization should strive to achieve excellence in their endeavors.
