Resume Or Resign – Group Tells Buhari

Charles Oputa popularly known as Charlyboy on Monday 7 led a Group of Concerned Nigerians to demand for the resumption or resignation of the President Muhammadu Buhari.

 

The group that converged at the Unity Fountain in Abuja in the early hours of this morning demanding that President Muhammadu Buhari should either resume duty or he resigns.

 

The renowned singer said that Nigerians have been taken for granted for so long, saying enough is enough. According to him, “Our Mumu Don Do.

 

Area Father as he is being called by his admirers said that his presence at the protest was to demand the resumption or resignation of the president. He said he was also present to support the youths who have been saddled with the responsibility of demanding accountability and transparency from Nigerian leaders.

“Members of the Concerned Nigerians are also expected to march to the Presidential Villa and demand for the resignation of President Buhari” He said.

 

According to him, a sit-out protests which would hold simultaneously in London and Abuja have been announced by a coalition of concerned Nigerians to demand for the return of the president back to Nigeria, or for his resignation due to the fact that he is ill.

 

Deji Adeyanju who is also one of the leaders of the group, said members of the Concerned Nigerians will march to the Presidential Villa to demand the resignation of the president.

 

Adeyanju said the protest will continue tomorrow with a sit-out at the Unity Fountain until the president either returns or resigns.

 

According to him, “The group is demanding for the return of the president back to Nigeria, or for his resignation due to the fact that he is ill.”

 

He added that the sit-out will continue daily from 9am to 10am. “The president cannot continue to remain in London infinitum. Osinbajo cannot continue to function as an Acting President Infinitum.

Acting status is not made to work in the country, he said, instead of allowing Osinbajo to address the ugly event that happened in Anambra, the Presidency issued a statement.

 

“You can imagine what happened after the Anambra attack, the Presidency issued a statement, they did not allow Osinbajo to take charge.

 

“Same with the Sallah celebration, they also released an audio in Hausa for all Nigerians. Osinbajo was not allowed to take charge.”

 

He pointed out that, the cabals are holding the country down, “They are holding the country to ransom. It is not by force to remain as president. It is also time for Section 144 to be activated.”

 

The protest will continue tomorrow August 8 with a sit-out at the Unity Fountain until the president either returns or resigns snapping picture is not a prerequisite for fitness we must as a matter of urgency call on the president to resume or resign”.

 

Also present at venue include officers of the Nigeria Police Force, various police  ans and horses.
