WAHO Receives Keys to Temporary Headquarters in Grand-Bassam

The West African Health Organisation (WAHO), the specialised health institution of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has officially received the keys to its temporary headquarters at the Village of Information Technology and Biotechnology (VITIB) in Grand-Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire.

The development marks a significant step in establishing the organisation’s temporary administrative base in the Ivorian coastal city as it continues to advance its regional health mandate across West Africa.

As ECOWAS’s specialised health agency, WAHO plays a vital role in coordinating regional health initiatives, strengthening healthcare systems, promoting disease prevention and control, and supporting collaboration among member states to address public health challenges.

The temporary headquarters at VITIB is expected to provide an administrative base for the organisation as it pursues its mission of improving the health and well-being of populations across the West African region.
