1 Mins read

The 2023 Kaduna-North Senatorial Candidate for the PRP has expressed his strong disapproval of the swift suspension of Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi by the Nigerian Senate.

This is contained in a press statement released today and personally signed by Mr Abdullahi Ahmed Wakili and made available to newsmen.

Wakili emphasized the need for due process and fairness in handling such allegations.

According to him, “The allegations against Senator Ningi involve budget padding amounting to a shocking 3 trillion Naira. These claims are of great concern”,

Wakili argues that they should be thoroughly investigated before any conclusions are reached.

“Suspending the senator without conducting a proper inquiry could give rise to suspicions that the Senate is attempting to hide any potential wrongdoings.” He said.

Wakili stated further that, “Transparency and accountability in governance are crucial, especially when it comes to allegations of financial misconduct.

The Kaduna North senatorial aspirant urged the Nigerian Senate to reconsider their decision and allow for a comprehensive investigation into the claims made by Senator Ningi.

He believes that this will not only strengthen the credibility of the country’s institutions, but also ensure that the concerns of citizens are heard and addressed.

“By fostering a more just and responsible government that serves the interests of all Nigerians, I believe that the credibility of the legislative body can be maintained and the trust of the people can be strengthened.” Wakili maintained.

The suspension of Senator Ningi has sparked a debate among Nigerians, with many supporting Wakili’s call for a thorough investigation before arriving at any conclusions. As the issue gains traction, citizens are hopeful that their voices will be taken into consideration and that justice will be served.

The Nigerian Senate is yet to rescind her position may be in the coming days, it is expected that the issue will be further discussed and debated among political circles.

The outcome of this debate will have significant implications for the reputation of the Nigerian Senate and the country as a whole.
