Emir of Ilorin Congratulates LEADERSHIP Editor Abdullahi Olesin on SWOT Award

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Alh. Abdullahi Olesin, the regional editor of LEADERSHIP Newspapers (North-Central), for receiving the prestigious Award of Credence. This accolade recognizes Olesin’s significant contributions to society through developmental journalism.

In addition to the Emir’s commendation, the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) have also expressed their congratulations to Olesin.

The senior adviser and counselor to the Kwara State governor, Alh. Saadu Salahu, alongside the special adviser on media, Alh. Bashiru Adigun, joined in celebrating Olesin’s achievement.

The award was presented during the “Our Bookworm Challenge Contest,” organized by SWOT in honor of Professor Saudat Abdulbaqi Sallah from the Mass Communication Department at the University of Ilorin.

In a goodwill message relayed by his spokesman, Mal. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir praised Olesin for his unwavering support to the Ilorin Emirate through balanced reporting and other impactful contributions. Sulu-Gambari highlighted the vital role of media practitioners in fostering a peaceful and harmonious environment conducive to business growth and community development, commending Olesin for his exemplary efforts in this regard.

Olesin, a former editor of The Herald Newspaper, continues to influence the media landscape with his commitment to developmental journalism.
