The spirit of achievement, joy, and emotional farewells filled the air as Model Girls Junior Secondary School, AMAC Estate, Lugbe, marked end of the 2024 academic session with a grand graduation and prize-giving ceremony on Monday, June 30th, 2025.

The event, held at the school’s premises and was graced by notable dignitaries, parents, teachers, and well-wishers, all gathered to witness the transformation of bright young girls into confident, well-nurtured leaders-in-the-making. The ceremony was chaired by Barrister Osita Nwanjo, whose presence and address added depth and encouragement to the day’s celebrations.

In her heartfelt welcome and farewell speech, the Principal of the school, Hajia Titilayo Yahaya (Mrs.), expressed deep gratitude to God, parents, and staff for the successful conclusion of the academic session and the remarkable journey of the graduating JSS 3 students.

“The journey which started three years back has come to an end successfully. You have spent three fruitful years of intensive grooming, moulding, and learning.

“Though the journey was not rosy, today we raise our shoulders high and declare to the world that we have laid a solid foundation for you to succeed and excel in life.” Hajia Titilayo said with emotion.

The Principal celebrated the girls as “princesses, potential leaders, mothers, and models,” charging them to be the change society yearns for.

She urged them to uphold the values instilled in them — fear of God, hard work, honesty, humility, and obedience — as they prepare for the next phase of their academic journey.

“Avoid engaging in activities that would debase womanhood or drag the hard-earned integrity of the prestigious MGJSS AMAC Estate into the mud,” she warned.

Added that, “You were born to be solutions to your generation and not part of its problems.”

In an inspiring moment, she reassured the graduating class that the gates of the school remain open to them for guidance, counseling, and mentorship.

Among the distinguished guests present were: Mrs. Pamela Mbanefo, Director/Principal, Nigerian-Korea Model School, Piwoyi, Hajia Ramatu Nusa, Director JSS, FCT-UBEB, Hajia Ramatu Ajuji, Director, Special Duties, Education Secretariat, FCTA, Mr. Michael Sunday, Director/Principal JSS Airport and Architect Achadu, Vice Chairman of the PTA

They each took turns commending the school’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, moral discipline, and female empowerment under the dynamic leadership of Hajia Titilayo Yahaya.

The PTA Chairman also gave a moving speech, thanking both staff and management for their tireless efforts in raising “worthy daughters of tomorrow” and pledging continued support from parents.

Throughout the ceremony, the school’s cultural dance group, poetry club, and choir entertained guests with electrifying performances, bringing to life the creativity and talents nurtured within the school’s walls. Star students were honored with awards for academic excellence, leadership, discipline, and extracurricular achievements.

For the JSS 1 and 2 students, the day was a reminder of the excellence expected of them. “The ball is now in your court,” the Principal charged, urging them to strive for similar recognition and success in the years to come.

Hajia Titilayo concluded her speech with heartfelt thanks to her Vice Principals, teaching and non-teaching staff, and supporting agencies like the FCT UBEB Management, Education Resource Centre, and others who made the academic year and the ceremony a success.

“To my hardworking team — thank you for your sacrifice and loyalty. God bless you all.”

As balloons soared into the sky and cheers echoed across the school compound, it was evident that the graduating class of 2024 was leaving not just with certificates, but with strength of character, vision, and the values of Model Girls JSS etched in their hearts.

With hopes high and dreams alive, they marched into the future — eyes forward, spirits unbroken — ready to conquer the world.
