PDP in Jada Says Atiku Loyalists Have No Political Value, Dismisses Defections, Reaffirms Loyalty to Fintiri

All eleven ward structures in Jada are intact and united. We remain firmly loyal to the PDP and His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, under the Fresh Air agenda

Jada, Adamawa State – July 18, 2025

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jada Local Government Area, the hometown of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has dismissed recent defections to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as inconsequential, describing the individuals involved as lacking political value and relevance within the party’s structure.

In a communiqué issued at the end of an executive committee meeting held at the Government Lodge, Jada, the PDP leadership in the local government reiterated its unwavering commitment to the party and to the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

According to the communiqué, those who defected are neither significant stakeholders in the party nor do they command grassroots support. “They only use Atiku’s big name to hijack political appointments and corner contracts for personal gain,” Mohammed Inusa PDP elder stateman in jada said.

Among those named in the communiqué are: Ahmadu Babalele – former PDP Chairman and elder brother to Abdullahi Babalele; Bamanga Kawuyo – former Youth Leader, described as a close relative of Arabo; Amuna Umaru – former Women Leader, who reportedly served in a domestic capacity; Babangida Buba, Idi Makaniki, Amina Umaru, Yohana Bameri, Ibrahim Maude, and Yusuf Baba of Nyibango Ward.

The statement clarified that only a handful of ward executive members from Jada 1, Jada 2, and Nyibango Wards joined the defectors. No ward chairman or sitting councillor has left the PDP.

The party further asserted that several of the individuals claiming defection were never registered or recognized as card-carrying members. Additionally, the communiqué noted that most of them failed to deliver their polling units during the 2023 general elections, questioning their electoral value.

“All eleven ward structures in Jada are intact and united. We remain firmly loyal to the PDP and His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, under the Fresh Air agenda,” the communiqué concluded.

The PDP leadership in Jada vowed to continue working towards strengthening the party at the grassroots and maintaining the local government as a stronghold of the party in Adamawa State.
