The President/CEO of Funab Group of Companies Ltd and Dan Amanar of Fune Emirate, Yobe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has congratulated members of Cadet Inspector Course 36/2002 and Cadet ASP Course 21/2002 of the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil Kano on the occasion of their 23rd anniversary.

In a goodwill message signed by his Director of Communications, Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan, and made available to journalists in Abuja,
Ajia extolled the remarkable contributions of the course members to the security and stability of Nigeria, noting that their service and sacrifices over the years have made a significant difference in safeguarding lives and property across the country.

According to him, the 2002 course remains a unique and blessed set within the Nigeria Police Force, having produced distinguished officers including a Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioners of Police, numerous Assistant Commissioners of Police, and Chief Superintendents of Police.

“We must celebrate the uniqueness and grace that Almighty Allah has bestowed upon this course.

“Today, many of our colleagues are entrusted with sensitive national responsibilities, including the protection and movement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Arm forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We are also strategically positioned as Squadron Commanders, Area Commanders, State Operations Commanders, and divisional police officers in almost all Divisional Headquarters across the country,” Ajia said.

Dan Amanar Fune further highlighted the global presence of members of the course who continue to serve Nigeria in international peacekeeping and foreign missions and permanent missions, describing it as a fulfillment of the prayers and goodwill of the then Inspector General of Police, Tafa Balogun, who showed them exceptional love and support during their training years.

Ajia, while celebrating their achievements, also urged his colleagues to rededicate themselves to tackling Nigeria’s security challenges. He made a passionate appeal for intensified intelligence sharing and proactive policing, particularly calling attention to the security concerns in his home state, Kwara.

“I urge my colleagues to deploy their networks of intelligence to salvage Kwara State, which is currently battling rising security threats that are generating concern and unrest among citizens. We must adopt community policing strategies to rescue Nigeria from the deepening security crisis,” he stressed.

The business leader further appealed to the government at all levels to prioritize the welfare of police officers and security agencies, insisting that improved motivation is central to effective policing. He also called for urgent reforms of the controversial Police Pension Scheme to ensure officers enjoy peace and dignity after retirement.

Ajia prayed for the continued success, long life, and prosperity of his colleagues, expressing optimism that the time is near for one of them to rise to the pinnacle of police leadership as the Inspector General of Police.

“I will continue to pray for each of us, and I strongly believe it is only a matter of time before one of our colleagues emerges as IGP,” he concluded.
