A New Dawn for Nigeria: Amb. Mohammed Tsoken Musa Commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Transformative Leadership and Predicts Brighter Days Beyond 2027

In a passionate commendation that reflects both confidence and optimism for Nigeria’s future, Ambassador Mohammed Tsoken Musa, the newly appointed Secretary of the Federal Character Commission, National President of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG), and former Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator for Taraba State Directorate of North-East Grassroots Engagement and Orientation, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for steering Nigeria towards positive change through swift policy implementation, good governance, and strategic reforms.

Speaking exclusively with Managing Editor of Time Nigeria Magazine, Abdulrahman Aliagan on the direction of the country under President Tinubu, Amb. Musa said the administration’s achievements within a short period are undeniable proof of a visionary leader committed to building a prosperous nation.

He expressed his unwavering support for the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and predicted that the light of Tinubu’s good governance will shine far beyond 2027.

According to him, “With the cooperation of the 10th National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council, President Tinubu is working tirelessly for the advancement of our great nation. Under democratic governance, Nigeria will continue to shine across Africa and the world at large.”

Amb. Musa highlighted President Tinubu’s achievements in stabilizing Nigeria’s economy despite inheriting significant fiscal and monetary challenges.

He noted that the administration’s economic strategy has led to a reduction of the fiscal deficit from 5.4% of GDP in 2023 to around 3.0% in 2024, a remarkable demonstration of fiscal discipline. He further explained that federal revenue has risen sharply, with collections surpassing ₦6 trillion in the first quarter of 2025 alone, driven by the removal of fuel subsidies, prudent monetary policies, and the elimination of Ways & Means financing.

The nation’s net external reserves, he revealed, surged from $4 billion in 2023 to over $23 billion by the end of 2024, representing nearly a 500% increase. In addition, the country’s tax-to-GDP ratio improved from 10% to over 13.5%, showing a more efficient and sustainable revenue mobilization framework.

These, according to Musa, are solid indications that Tinubu is repositioning Nigeria on the path of self-reliance and long-term economic growth.

In the area of infrastructure, FCC Secretary described President Tinubu’s investments as transformative and vital for economic expansion. He explained that in the power sector, the administration has embarked on a ₦4 trillion debt restructuring plan expected to save the government over ₦1.1 trillion annually, ensuring improved electricity supply and strengthening industrial productivity.

He noted that the government has launched the Port Harcourt–Aba railway and approved $3 billion for the 2,044 km Eastern Rail Line, which is expected to unlock ₦50 billion annually in trade along that corridor. Similarly, the administration commissioned the first 30 km phase of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway in May 2025, a milestone in a landmark 700 km project designed to boost trade, tourism, and regional connectivity.

He added that $508 million has been committed to upgrading Eastern Port infrastructure while the 118.85 km Ebonyi stretch of the Calabar–Abuja Super-Highway has been successfully inaugurated. According to him, these projects are not just investments in roads, rails, and ports but bold steps toward creating an economy powered by innovation, job creation, and sustainable growth.

APC-IGG scribe also commended the administration’s investments in human capital and social welfare, saying that President Tinubu has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to improving education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, and youth empowerment.

He cited the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, which has already received over 1.8 million applications nationwide, offering Nigerians access to world-class training in artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, and other in-demand skills.

Through the Renewed Hope Cities programme, the administration is constructing 20,000 affordable housing units to tackle the nation’s housing deficit, while more than ₦200 billion in loans has been disbursed to farmers and agro-processors to enhance food security. He further explained that the Bank of Industry has disbursed an additional ₦200 billion to over 900,000 nano, micro, and small-scale business owners, creating thousands of jobs across the country.

In education, Amb. Musa Tsoken praised the administration’s establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which has delivered over ₦70 billion in loans to more than 600,000 students, ensuring wider access to quality education. On healthcare, he noted that ₦45.9 billion has been invested in 8,800 primary healthcare centers, enabling better maternal care, malaria vaccination campaigns, and disease prevention services nationwide.

The administration, he added, has also improved living standards by increasing the national minimum wage to ₦70,000 and raising the NYSC monthly stipends from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000, a move widely celebrated by Nigerian youths.

Amb. Musa further praised the administration’s successes in improving security and restoring stability across the country. He revealed that security forces have neutralized over 15,543 insurgents nationwide, while 124,408 Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters have surrendered in the last two years.

Recently, security agencies also captured two of the nation’s most wanted militant leaders, a significant victory that has boosted investor confidence and reinforced the government’s commitment to ensuring safety and stability for all Nigerians.

On Nigeria’s economic outlook, the Wukari born Politician expressed optimism that the policies currently being implemented by President Tinubu will continue to yield significant results. The Central Bank of Nigeria projects a 4.17% GDP growth rate in 2025, and the President has set an ambitious target of achieving 7% annual growth by 2027, with a clear strategy to quadruple the economy by 2030.

These projections, he explained, reflect the administration’s vision for building a globally competitive economy anchored on innovation, diversification, and productivity.

He emphasized that President Tinubu is not only leading Nigeria but also redefining the meaning of good governance through transparency, inclusion, and accountability. With his bold reforms, strong institutions, and the support of committed stakeholders across the country, Musa believes that Tinubu is setting the foundation for a Nigeria that works for everyone. He pledged the total loyalty and support of the APC Initiative for Good Governance and reaffirmed his readiness to work with the President to deepen grassroots engagement, strengthen federal inclusivity, and expand opportunities for Nigerians across all regions.

Amb. Musa also specially commended Sen. Dr. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), for his unwavering support, mentorship, and strategic guidance. He revealed that Sen. Akume played a pivotal role in providing him with the essential knowledge and enabling environment needed to coordinate professors, professionals, and stakeholders across the globe in mobilizing overwhelming support for President Tinubu’s emergence during the 2023 elections.

According to Amb. Musa, Sen. Akume’s leadership helped in clarifying Nigerians on the credibility, competence, and readiness of President Tinubu to pilot Nigeria’s transformative agenda. He described the SGF as “a rare gem” and “an exemplary leader” whose ethical character, visionary disposition, and patriotism are worthy of emulation, particularly by Nigerian youths striving to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

He further applauded Sen. Akume’s unbiased and inclusive leadership style, noting his remarkable ability to bridge religious divides, dismantle tribal sentiments, and foster unity of purpose in leveraging Nigeria’s diversity for national progress. According to Musa, Akume has been a fundamental force in managing Nigeria’s diversity and uniting the people towards the successful implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Sen. George Akume has demonstrated uncommon leadership, selflessness, and patriotism,” Amb. Musa concluded. “His role in harmonizing interests across political, religious, and ethnic lines has been invaluable to the stability and progress of our great nation.”

Ambassador Musa concluded by declaring that a new dawn has already begun under President Tinubu.

According to him, Nigeria is moving steadily from promises to performance, from potential to prosperity, and from hope to reality. He expressed confidence that with unity, determination, and continued commitment to reforms, the light of Tinubu’s good governance will shine even brighter beyond 2027, inspiring generations to come and positioning Nigeria as a beacon of progress across the African continent.
