Nigeria has welcomed back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, after his recent series of diplomatic engagements in the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United States of America. His return has been described by many as a moment of renewed hope, with expectations that the outcomes of these visits will translate into tangible benefits for the nation.
Among those who expressed joy over the President’s return is Ambassador Muhammed Musa Tsoken, National Coordinator of the Asiwaju Again Renewed Hope Support Initiative 2027, National President of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG), and the defunct Presidential Campaign Coordinator for the Taraba State Directorate of North-East Grassroots Engagement and Orientation.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Ambassador Tsoken described the President’s safe return as inspiring for millions of Nigerians who continue to support his vision for national transformation.
“Once again, welcome home, Mr. President,” Tsoken said. “Your vision, courage, and dedication remain an inspiration to us all. May God bless Nigeria and continue to guide your leadership.”
Ambassador Tsoken commended the President’s consistent efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s place in global diplomacy since assuming office in May 2023. He noted that Tinubu’s most recent engagements highlighted key areas of cooperation—trade, innovation, energy diversification, and security—which are vital to repositioning Nigeria’s economy and improving the lives of its citizens.
Tracing the President’s diplomatic journey, Ambassador Tsoken recalled that Tinubu’s first major outing was in June 2023, when he attended the New Global Financial Pact Summit in Paris, France. That engagement, he said, signaled Nigeria’s readiness to contribute meaningfully to global financial reforms. Tinubu later addressed the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York in September 2023, projecting Nigeria’s voice on climate justice, investment, and African development. He also participated in the Saudi-Africa Summit in Riyadh in October 2023 and the G20 Compact with Africa Conference in Berlin in November 2023, both of which showcased Nigeria as a leading advocate for stronger Africa-global partnerships.
Tsoken further highlighted the depth of Tinubu’s relationship with France, noting that the President has visited Paris multiple times. In November 2024, he signed key agreements with French President Emmanuel Macron on infrastructure and food security, while also witnessing Nigerian banks, UBA and Zenith, expand their operations into France. In February 2025, Tinubu stopped over in Paris on his way to the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, further cementing relations. Most recently, in September 2025, the President embarked on a working visit to Paris and London, during which he held a private luncheon with President Macron at the Elysee Palace. Their discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties for mutual prosperity and global stability.
According to Ambassador Tsoken, these engagements are not ceremonial outings but deliberate strategies to attract investment, create opportunities, and ensure Nigeria plays a defining role in international affairs. He stressed that the dividends of these trips will, in due course, reflect positively on the economy and on citizens’ welfare.
Adding to this perspective, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remains committed to the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda. He said the administration is determined to translate the outcomes of the President’s foreign engagements into concrete benefits such as economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and social development.
Senator Akume also commended the efforts of patriotic Nigerians like Ambassador Tsoken, whose consistent advocacy and grassroots mobilization have kept public confidence in the Tinubu-led government strong. He said such dedication from citizens not only strengthens democracy but also creates a partnership between government and the people, making it easier to achieve national goals.
The SGF stressed that with unity of purpose and continued support for President Tinubu, the dividends of democracy would be delivered more inclusively and sustainably, ensuring that every Nigerian feels the positive impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
