Shongom Council Distributes Sallah Clothes to Orphans, Vulnerable Persons

Shongom Local Government Council has distributed Sallah clothes to orphans and vulnerable persons as part of activities marking the Ramadan period.

The distribution exercise took place at Jauro Sajo Village in Shongom Local Government Area, where the Village Head, Malam Musa Hashimu, commended community members for their generous contributions towards the success of the programme.

He stressed the blessings and importance of assisting orphans and vulnerable persons, particularly during festive periods, noting that such support brings relief and happiness to those in need.

Some mothers of orphans children, including Akilatu Hussaini, Malama Balkisu Musa Kushi, and Hafsatu Isah Daja, expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely support ahead of the Sallah celebration.

They also appealed well to do individuals, politicians, and community leaders to continue supporting the less privileged in society.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Jama’atul Nasrul Islam in Shongom Local Government Area, Malam Umar Saleh Jauro Sajo, said the distribution covered communities across the local government.

He pledged that the organisation would intensify efforts in subsequent years to expand assistance to vulnerable and less privileged persons.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of new clothes to orphaned children in preparation for the forthcoming Sallah celebration.
