NIPOST Launches Innovative Online Product

As part of the spirited efforts at transforming the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) for the needed growth and development, the Federal Government has launched a new innovation and technology-driven product, the ‘Game Changing’.

 

This came as part of the highlights to mark the World Post Day, the ‘Game Changing’ product of the postal service is set to change the narrative of the Service and contribute to  socioeconomic development of the country.

 

The Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu while speaking at the event said, the new innovative product will ensure that the postal service will be relevant in the era of ICT, which is characterized with SMS, WhatsApp, chats and all forms of social media campaigns.

 

Barrister Shittu said that the E-commerce which is one of the products will help in enhancing the productivity of postal services in the country and enhance economic development.

 

The minister gave the assurance that the present administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring development and growth of the nation, especially at improving the postal services in the nation.

 

He also bemoaned the state of NIPOST, which  has been redundant  before the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, which has played critical role in reshaping the postal service in the country.

 

In his remarks, the Postmaster General of NIPOST,  Barrister Bisi Adegbuyi said, the launching of the Game Changing product will enhance the economic development of the country and help in achieving the sustainable development goal .

 

Adegbuyi emphasized that there is much to be gained with the new transformation and introduction of game changing product.

According to him, the new product launched will help to aid security agencies in tracking information in good time.

“It will boost  the tracking of data management and  also build a stronger economy, which  will be available to all government agencies that deals with information management.”

“The benefits are more satisfied customers, stronger postal markets and most importantly, more cohesive societies “he added.

 

Speaking further, he noted that the introduction of International Postal System (IPS) 2016 tracking system will enable customers’ trace and track their parcels and packages from home, and at each point to determine the level of progress.

 

According to him, the NIPOST Address Verification System is the first digital platform and an easy way to address verification within 48 hours.

 

The new innovation will give unimaginable and detailed information about individual who lives in a place, without going through unnecessary stress.
