The National Chairman of Restoration Party of Nigeria (RP), Nsehe Nseobong has stated that his party would merge with no other political parties to form consensus in preparation for the 2019 general elections in order to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nseobong spoke to Time Nigeria today at the World press Conference in Abuja organized by the Restoration Party. He said that merging with any party ahead of the 2019 general elections would disrupt the agenda of the Restoration Party for Nigeria.

“Restoration Party is not looking at merging with any political party. The moment we start merging the ideals and intention of the party become disrupted. Before you know it, the focal points of the party become distorted that is why we are not planning to merge with any party,” he clarified.

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, there have been merger meetings amongst political parties in the country especially in the wake of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s assertion that there is need for a third force to oust the incumbent government.

Nseobong lamented that youths in the country have been used by selfish politicians as democratic thugs stressing that, “They have not really come out to give their energy, to give their all to ensure that we have a Nigeria of our dream. That is why restoration party of Nigeria came out with a load cry that the time for our nation to arise and shine has come and that time is now.”

He said the party would build Nigeria with an ideology based on power, strength and unity of the youths of the country.
