PPF Condemns the Killing of Channels TV Reporter in Abuja, Nigeria

Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in a letter to Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria has expressed concern over the killing of Channels TV reporter Precious Owolabi on July 22 in Abuja.

This is contained in a release signed by PPF Secretary General of the Foundation, Owais Aslam and made available to Time Nigeria, Ali in his letter has condemned the vicious murder of journalist working in the line of duty and called on the concerned authorities to immediately investigate the killing of Owolabi and ensure justice is served in this case.

According to the Institute for Media and Society (IMS), Owolabi, a reporter with Channels TV was covering the protest by the members of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), when he was hit by a bullet, killing him on the spot.

The protest later turned out to be violent as officers of the Nigerian Police force tried to disrupt the protest by the members of IMN.
