Former Gov. Ajimobi Finally Buried amidst Tight Security

After a delay in the final burial of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State late Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, his remains has finally been buried at his GRA Oluyole  residence, Ibadan.

He died on Thursday, June 25 and would have been buried the next day according to Muslim rites if all things went well.

The burial had to be delayed due to issues between the Oyo State government and his immediate family on the burial site.

Time Nigeria Magazine reports that Ajimobi was buried some minutes after 10am putting to rest issues of his final resting place.

The remains was buried amid tight security provided by the Nigrria Police Oyo State  Command.

Fidau prayer was later offered at his Mosque, Abiola Ajimobi Central Mosque in Oke Ado area, Ibadan.

Selected Clerics led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland Sheikh Agbotomokekere,Sheikh Ajani Bello and Azeez Akewugbagold were on hand to give him desired muslim prayers.

Few  other important personalities including Kano State Governor and In -Law, Abdulahi Ganduje,Oyo and Lagos State Deputy Governors, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, Obafemi Hamsat and Lagos Speaker, Mudashir Obasa etc attended the passage rite largely conducted in line with the Covid 19 protocols.

Others in attendance were, the deceased former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo and Senator Teslim Folarin APC Gubernatorial candidate in the Oyo State last governorship election ,Adebayo Adelabu.

The State Police Command that drew a large number of its personnel to the Oluyole GRA,the epic centre of the burial said they acted on signals from Abuja.

 The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gbenga Fadeyi explained that they were ordered to ensure maintenance of law and order.

“Our presence was to ensure that hoodlums do not unleash terror on dignitaries at the occasion”, he states.
