14-year-old Arinze leads Interactors in Lagos, Ogun

Chukwukelu Arinze, 14-year-old SS2 student of Igbobi College Yaba, Lagos State, has been installed as the 34th Rotary International District 9110 Interact Representative, overseeing 124 active Interact clubs within Lagos and Ogun states.

The investiture ceremony held at the Igbobi College Hall Yaba.

Arinze was installed by a past District Interact Rep Adedamola Adepoju and District Rotaract Representative Ayodeji Sobowale while the Rotary International District 9110 Governor Rtn. Remi Bello, chairman of the event Rtn. Akin Mustapha Lusty, District Interact Committee Chairperson, Rtn. Fatimah Hassan, whom herself was an Interactor years back in her secondary school days, among others witnessed the ceremony.

Arinze promised to focus on girl-child issues, mental health and depression challenges facing teenagers who are committing suicide and also promote international peace and understanding while building friendship among fellow Interactors.

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people aged 12 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting.
