Ajia Congratulates Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for Second Term in Office

· Urges Him to Deliver on Campaign Promises

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Asa/Ilorin-West Federal Constituency in the just concluded 2023 general election, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia has congratulated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his second term in office, enjoins the Governor to deliver on promises of good governance, economic growth, and social development he made to Kwarans during his electioneering campaign for second term in office.

In statement issued on Monday in Abuja and signed by Ajia’s Director of Communications, Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan and made available to Journalists, it stated that the people of Kwara state have once again placed their trust in Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as he is being inaugurated for a second term in office today.

According to the statement, “I want to congratulate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as you took oath of office for second term and I urge you to continue to prioritise the interests of the people of Kwara State and deliver on promises of good governance, economic growth, and social development that you made to Kwaranas during your electioneering campaign.

“I also call on the Governor to redirect his focus and channel a new course in tackling the numerous challenges that lie ahead of the office you occupied; I want to advise you to work with all stakeholders to build a better Kwara where lives of all citizens of the state will be meaningfully improved.

Ajia noted that, Kwarans expect transparency and accountability in the governance process, “I want to eqully advise you to run an open and honest government with the mind that there are consequences for any actions or inactions that you may take while in office and to bear in mind that power is transient.”

Ajia charges the Governor to ensure that everyone is treated equally and fairly under the law, regardless of their social status, political or religious affiliations.

The Abuja-based security expert reminds Governor AbdulRahman that Kwarans expect good policies that will lead to economic growth and development in terms of job creation, investment in infrastructure and provision of basic amenities such as water, electricity, and healthcare as well as security system that will guaranteed the protection of lives and property of Kwarans from internal and external threats, such as terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminal activities.

He demands that Governor should run an inclusive and participatory government where Kwarans are critical stakeholders in the decision-making process and their opinions and contributions are considered by the government.

Ajia however canvasses support of all Kwarans for Governor Abdulrahman to succeed in his second term in office so that the dividend of democracy can be visible in the state.

According to him, “As a Muslim, I strongly believe that only Almighty Allah gives power and to who He wishes at appointed time and it is expected of every true Muslim to pray for anybody that God has put in leadership position and support them to succeed.
