Ajia Congratulates New IGP, Olukayode

*** Urges Him to Priortise Police Welfare

The President, Chief Executive Officer of Funab Group of Companies Ltd, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia has congratulated Mr. Egbetokun Olukayode on his elevation as the new Inspector General of Police, (IGP) appointed by the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ajia, in a statement he personally signed on Friday in Abuja stated that, “Mr. Olukayode is a seasoned law enforcement professional with wealth of experience in the field. His appointment comes at a critical time when Nigeria needs the service of a Police officer with strong moral character, sense of ethics, compassion, respect for rule of law and human dignity to lead Nigeria Police and we strongly believe that he is more than capable of leading the Nigeria Police Force to greater heights.

Ajia who himself a retired Police Officer noted that the newly appointed IGP has distinguished himself in various roles within the Force. According to him, “The new IGP has distinguished himself in various roles within the force and has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Nigeria Police Force, therefore his appointment by the President Tinubu is well-deserved and a recognition of his dedication to the service of the nation.”

Ajia maintains that, the new IGP is one of the brilliants and finest Police officers Nigeria is proud of, his record remains clean, unblemish and has demonstrated the highest level of integrity and honesty, saying that his new appointment is not unexpected.”

He stressed the needs for the new IGP to be mindful of challenges before him. He said, “As he assumed this new role, I want to urge Mr. Olukayode to be mindful of the challenges before him. Nigeria is a country with diverse cultures and traditions, and the Nigeria Police Force must work tirelessly to ensure that all citizens are treated with respect and dignity.”

The Ilorin-born security expert noted,  “One of the major challenges facing the new Inspector General of Police is the issue of insecurity in the country. I believe that Mr. Olukayode has the experience and expertise to address this challenge head-on and restore peace and security to our communities.”

He advised Mr. Olukayode to prioritise the welfare of police officers. “Nigeria Police Force is made up of hardworking men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities.

“It is important that they are adequately compensated and provided with the necessary tools and resources to carry out their duties effectively.

Ajia also commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for not jettisoning quality, expertise and credibility in the appointments he has made so far, noting  that Mr President has ensures that credible Nigerians have been appointed to fix Nigeria. Ajia added that President has also ensures that his appointment reflects federal character policy.

“I once again congratulate Mr. Egbetokun Olukayode on his appointment as the new Inspector General of Police of Nigeria. I wish him all the best in this new role and look forward to working with him to build a safer and more secure Nigeria. He concludes.
