In a remarkable show of solidarity and renewed commitment to party ideals, the All Progressives Congress (APC) executives in Akoko North East Local Government converged earlier today at the residence of the Party Chairman, Hon. Saliu Mumuni Olarenwaju, for a strategic meeting hosted by the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Mohammed Mutiu Olawale.
The meeting served as a vital moment of reflection, brotherhood, and renewed resolve among party stakeholders. In his address, Alhaji Olawale emphasized the importance of unity within the party, stating that though he occupies a leadership position, he remains, first and foremost, a brother—accessible, attentive, and committed to the collective good of the APC family in the local government.
“We must continue to build, support, and stand by one another for the progress of our dear local government,” Olawale said. “Regardless of our individual positions or affiliations, we are one APC, and our strength lies in our unity.”
The Chairman also shared a deeply personal message rooted in humility and faith, declaring:
“To God the Exalted, before birth I was nothing, after birth I was nothing, currently I’m nothing, and tomorrow I will be nothing. Only God is exalted, except only that He ordains.”
With this, he called for peace, love, and cooperation among all party members.
Updating the gathering on the current state of local governance, Alhaji Olawale highlighted notable progress in two key areas: security and commerce. He informed the executives of improvements in local security through ongoing interventions and collaborations, which are already yielding positive outcomes.
He also provided updates on the Osele Market renovation, a critical project aimed at revitalizing local trade and empowering market women and traders. According to him, work is steadily progressing, and upon completion, the market will offer a safer and more functional environment conducive to business growth.
In a humble appeal, the Chairman urged party executives and stakeholders to remain patient and continue supporting his administration’s vision. “Your encouragement means a lot to me, and I do not take it for granted,” he noted.
Despite the short notice, the large turnout at the meeting underscored the deep sense of loyalty and commitment among the APC leadership in Akoko North East. The session ended on a note of renewed camaraderie and a shared determination to deliver good governance to the people.
