Al-Kadiriyah’s Abduction: IEDPU, Saraki Condemn Nabeeha’s Killing, Charge Government, Security Agencies on Others’ Release

Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the people of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State, has condemned the killing of one of the abducted girls by their kidnappers as it appealed to relevant authorities to up the scale in the fight against insecurity in the country in order to prevent the nation from disintegration.

The Union stated this over the weekend while reacting to the killing of one of the Al-Kadiriyah girls, who was an undergraduate at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, by their abductors, saying that the murder of the innocent girl, as a way of driving home their demand for payment of ransom on the victims, was absolutely mindless, extremely sacrilegious and very sad.

In a statement signed by
Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, the
National Publicity Secretary,
Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, Sunday said.

“The National President of the Union, Alhaji AbdulMumini Ayo AbdulMalik, said that the killing of the girl was not only unfortunate but also unacceptable, adding that the trend portends huge danger for the continuous coexistence of the country.”

Alhaji AbdulMalik pointed out that it was high time that the government walked its talk by tightening security within and around the country and ensuring that the remaining girls as well as other kidnapped victims were returned to their families in peace and not in pieces.

The statement further stated, “The community leader also reiterated his appeal to well meaning Nigerians and particularly indigenes of Ilorin Emirate to support the family of the victims towards ensuring that the remaining girls regain their freedom without further delay.”

Alhaji AbdulMalik added that the thoughts of the Union and its members across the world are with the immediate and extended families of the victims as he prayed to Allah to console them. The statement concludes.

In this same vein, the President of the 8th Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki also condemned the incident saying that, “It is unconscionable that Nabeeha’s life was lost due to extortion and greed. No family should ever have to face such an impossible choice—to pay a ransom that cripples their lives or face the unthinkable consequences.

Dr Saraki said in a statement, “I strongly condemn the kidnappers responsible for this tragedy and the ongoing captivity of the remaining five Al-Kadriyar children. Their actions are cruel and barbaric, inflicting unspeakable suffering on innocent victims and tearing families apart.

“I urge the authorities to work tirelessly to ensure the safe and swift return of the remaining children. Every effort must be made to bring these perpetrators to justice.

“Our security agencies must be empowered with the resources and training necessary to effectively combat these criminal elements. Intelligence gathering, proactive intervention, and seamless inter-agency collaboration are crucial to dismantling these networks of terror.

He prayed that, “May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive Nabeeha’s sins and grant her a place in Al Jannah Firdaus. May He protect the remaining children and grant the Al-Kadriyar family strength and solace during this unimaginable condition.  Saraki said.
