The Director-General of the Joint Project Development Agency, Gombe State, Builder Mahmood Yusuf, has assured that all ongoing projects awarded by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will be completed before the expiration of the governor’s tenure.
Builder Mahmood Yusuf made this known while responding to questions from journalists at his office at the Government House Gombe
He explained that the agency was established by the current administration in 2020 to address the development gap between urban and rural areas, as most projects in the past were concentrated in the state capital.
He stated that the agency’s projects in rural communities are based on needs assessments submitted by local government chairmen, which are then scrutinized and approved by the Joint Development Council before implementation.
The Director-General disclosed that several key projects are ongoing across the state, including the renovation of emir’s palaces, local government secretariats, the construction of a new secretariat for Nafada Local Government Area, township roads in both urban and rural areas, and the Three-Arm Zone complex, among others.
He emphasized that all projects under the agency are executed according to approved standards and specifications to ensure durability and long-term value.
Builder Mahmood further revealed that no contractor is currently owed by the state government, noting that funds for the completion of all ongoing projects have already been secured and set aside by the government.
