The APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG) has congratulated Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his appointment as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a strategic and visionary step towards strengthening the party’s leadership and deepening democratic ideals in Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message signed by its National President, Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, APC-IGG commended the leadership of the party for identifying a technocrat, scholar, and proven public servant in Professor Yilwatda, whose antecedents stand as a beacon of integrity, innovation, and purposeful governance.

“On behalf of the APC Initiative for Good Governance, I extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his well-deserved appointment as National Chairman of our great party,” Tsoken stated. “This is not just an appointment; it is a call to national service by a man of unimpeachable credibility and leadership prowess.”

Highlighting his impressive credentials, the group emphasized Professor Yilwatda’s distinguished career as a professor of computer engineering, whose deep knowledge in technology and innovation will inject a fresh dynamic into party administration. APC-IGG noted that his prior roles as a Resident Electoral Commissioner, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, and Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council speak volumes of his capacity for leadership, strategic planning, and delivery.

“Professor Yilwatda’s appointment is a testament to merit, loyalty, and service. His rich experience in governance, electoral processes, and humanitarian service makes him uniquely positioned to lead the APC at this critical moment,” the statement added.

The APC-IGG charged the new chairman to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors by deepening internal democracy, promoting inclusiveness across party lines, and fostering unity among stakeholders.

“We urge Professor Yilwatda to prioritize reconciliation, transparency, and a results-driven approach that will not only sustain but expand the APC’s reach and relevance across Nigeria. His leadership must embody the ideals of justice, equity, and accountability, which are the pillars of good governance and sustainable democracy,” Tsoken advised.

Reaffirming its commitment to supporting his tenure, APC-IGG pledged to collaborate closely with the new chairman in advancing reforms, mobilizing grassroots support, and driving party initiatives that align with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“APC-IGG remains a loyal and progressive arm of the party committed to advancing good governance, transparency, and accountability. We look forward to partnering with Professor Yilwatda in entrenching democratic values and ensuring the APC continues to be a beacon of hope for all Nigerians.”
