ARMTI Trains 300 Kwara Youth, Women in Sustainable Enterprises

Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), Ilorin, Kwara state has trained a total of 300 youth in capacity building for sustainable enterprise they can pursue for economic independence.

The five-day training programme, titled, ‘Capacity Building for Sustainable Enterprise of Youth and Women in Kwara State’, involved youth, drawn from local government areas of the state.

Sponsored by the Federal Government of Nigeria and facilitated by a member of the House of Representatives, representating Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero federal constituency, RT. Hon. Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, the programme was structured to combat unemployment, foster value addition, and enhance economic status and self-reliance of youth and women in Kwara state.

Speaking during the programme, the executive director of the Institute, Dr. Olufemi Oladunni, said the aim of the programme was deemed achievable by equipping the participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to establish and successfully manage sustainable enterprises that contribute to their income increase, self-reliance, economic growth and job creation.

Dr. Oladunni, who said that the participants were empowered with required items to excel in their chosen enterprises, added that they also received grants after the training programme.

“The training was delivered by well-seasoned resource persons. A total of nine modules were presented during the training programme, which were carefully designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and attitudes of participants who were

seeking to start an enterprise or already had one.

“The training sessions were highly informative, interactive and participatory, and participants admitted that the training was relevant to them. They commended the institute’s well-organized training sessions and affirmed that their objectives for attending the workshop were largely satisfied.

Organized by the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) in collaboration with ARCAD PROJECTS LIMTTED, the training programme was held between December 18- to 22, 2023

While responding on behalf of his colleagues, the class governor of the participants, Sunday Olamilekan, appreciated the organizers, saying that the participants would make use of the opportunity to improve themselves.
