The leadership of the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation has paid a courtesy and appreciation visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Isiaq Adekunle Salako, in recognition of his presence at the Foundation’s recent Annual Ramadan Lecture where he represented the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The visit followed the minister’s participation in the annual Ramadan programme organised by the Foundation, where he attended on behalf of President Tinubu, whose administration continues to emphasize unity, faith, and national development.

During the visit, the Director of Communications of the Foundation, Abdulrahman Aliagan, formally introduced members of the Ashraaf delegation to the minister and ushered in the Executive Director of the Foundation to brief him on the organisation’s mission, thematic focus, and the various programmes and initiatives it has been implementing.

Speaking during the engagement, the Chairman and Founder of Ashraaf Islamic Foundation, Imam Sharafudeen Abdulsalam Aliagan, expressed profound appreciation to the minister for honouring the Foundation’s invitation and representing President Tinubu at the Ramadan lecture.

He noted that the presence of the minister at the event demonstrated the Federal Government’s recognition of the role of faith-based organisations in promoting moral values, unity, and social development.

Imam Aliagan also offered prayers for President Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, long life, and good health as he continues to shoulder the responsibilities of leading the nation.

He further prayed for divine guidance and protection for the minister and for peace, stability, and prosperity across Nigeria, particularly during the current challenging period facing the country.

Responding, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Salako, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the appreciation visit and commended the organisation for the successful hosting of the Ramadan programme.

The minister particularly praised the high level of organisation displayed by the Foundation, noting that such professionalism among Islamic organisations would attract more people to the faith and promote a positive image of Islam globally.

He also remarked that President Tinubu is a strong believer in the power of prayer and appreciates the spiritual support offered by religious communities across the country.

Dr. Salako assured the Foundation of his personal support and encouraged Islamic organisations to continue strengthening their structures and programmes, adding that organised and impactful initiatives would help correct misconceptions about Islam and present the religion in its true light.

As part of the engagement, the Foundation presented a formal letter to the ministry seeking collaboration in several of its outreach programmes, particularly in areas related to health awareness, nutrition education, and capacity building initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities.

The minister welcomed the proposal and expressed optimism about potential areas of partnership that would support public health advocacy and community development.

The visit concluded with a group photograph involving the minister and members of the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation delegation.
