In an open letter addressed to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser to the President, Barrister Halima Gaya has called for an urgent investigation into the recent allegations made against the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

The open letter, which was written by Barrister Gaya, a patriot who cares about the peace, security and stability of the nation, expresses concern over the destabilizing effects of the #EndBadGovernance protest, which has led to the loss of many lives and properties in the country.

Barrister Gaya highlighted that one of the duties of the National Security Adviser’s office is to ensure the security of the country is not threatened by “inflammatory statements, news surveillance and unfounded allegations made out of bad taste that has the capacity of putting the country on fire.”

The barrister specifically referenced the recent publication made by one Jackson Ude, who allegedly accused the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, of being a sponsor of the #EndBadGovernance protest. Barrister Gaya urged Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to invite Jackson Ude to substantiate his claims against the former governor, stating that such allegations must be thoroughly investigated to avoid any damage to the nation and the person of the former governor.

Barrister Gaya described the former Governor of Kogi State as “one of the nation’s greatest defenders of our nascent democratic tenets” and a proponent of a “new type of politics dispensation that recognises the will of the people to choose at every turn who governs them.”

The barrister also highlighted the former governor’s loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari and his support for the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that it is “baffling” for anyone to question the former governor’s loyalty to the nation.

Barrister Gaya concluded the letter by urging Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to expeditiously order an investigation into the allegations made by Jackson Ude and make the outcome public for the nation.
