Baruteen Traditional Rulers Applaud Governor AbdulRazaq on KwaraLEARN’s initiative

Traditional rulers in Baruteen local government area of Kwara State have joined other stakeholders across the state to applaud Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s giant strides in the education sector, especially digitalization of the public primary schools across the state.

This is contained in statement issued and signed by the Press Secretary , Ministry of education and Human capacity Development, MOEHCD, Mr Yakub Kamaldeen Aliagan.

According to the statement, “the Emir of Ilesha Baruba, Professor Halidu Abubakar and Emir of Okuta, Dr. Idris Abubakar Sero gave the commendations at different fora on Wednesday while playing host to the KwaraLEARN stakeholders’ sensitization train in their different domains.

“The Emir of Ilesha Baruba, Professor Halidu Abubakar, “This is a laudable and brilliant initiative that is going to go a long way to improve the computer literacy of teachers and also enhance teaching and learning for the efficient performance of students”

“He assured the present administration of his and his people’s unalloyed support to the government. He also implored the government to ensure that the programme is sustainable.”

The statement further stated that, “On his part, the Emir of Okuta, Dr. Idris Abubakar Sero, thanked the governor for selecting Baruten local government area as one of the pioneer beneficiaries of KwaraLEARN.

“He stressed that the gesture will bridge the gap between the rural and Urban dwellers in terms of educational development.

“The Emir noted that the programme will not only enhance standard and quality of education, but also prepare the future leaders for a greater tomorrow.

“Earlier, the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu had appreciated the warm receptions accorded to her and her team by the Baruten Traditional rulers, despite their tight schedules.

“Hajia Modibbo explained that the programme, which will cut across the sixteen local government within four years, has commenced in four local government which are Ilorin West, Ilorin South, Offa and Baruten local government.

“She assured the people of the area that the present administration will not relent in its efforts in repositioning the education sector to meet up with international standards.”

The representatives of the new Globe Education Services, Director Policy and Partnership, Mr. Femi Awoyinfa described “KwaraLEARN” as a digitization of teaching and learning to enhance effective and efficient performance of pupils in the class.

He further said that ” the programme has a vision of transforming all Government Primary Schools across the state through Innovative technology, data-driven platforms, high-quality learning materials, effective training and Coaching for teachers and school leaders”.

While delivering his remarks, the Chairman House Committee on Education, Honourable Muhammad Salihu Baba- Boriya, commended the Ministry of Education for bringing the sensitization to the grassroots.

According to him, the sensitization will allow the electorate to know more about the laudable projects of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration and also prepare them to support the project for sustainability.

The programme was held at LGEA Primary school, Ilesha Baruba and Baptist Secondary school, Okuta and it was well attended by education stakeholders across the local government, traditional rulers, Baruten local government Transition Committee, among others.
