City Boy Movement Pays Condolence Visit to Kwara Govt Over Kaiama Attack, Mourns Over 75 Victims

The City Boy Movement has paid a condolence visit to the Government and people of Kwara State following the devastating attack on the Woro area of Kaiama Local Government Area, which reportedly claimed over 75 lives.

The City Boy Movement has paid a condolence visit to the Government and people of Kwara State following the devastating attack on the Woro area of Kaiama Local Government Area, which reportedly claimed over 75 lives.

The visit, encouraged by Barrister Seyi Tinubu, was aimed at commiserating with the state government and affected communities over what the Movement described as a “dastardly attack.” The delegation was led by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga and his wife Mrs Ajimobi, alongside the National Coordinator, Hon. Favour Abayomi, and the North Central Zonal Coordinator, Amb. AbdulFatai Yahaya Gambari.

Other members of the delegation included the Kwara State Director, Mallam Baba Rauf Abdulrazaq; Benue State Director, Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime; Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) Director, Hon. Bitrus Laurence Garki; and Plateau State Director, Mr. David Daser, Ambassador Ahmad Limateef — Director, City Boy Movement, Niger State and Chief Mark Okpanachi Ogah, the state Director, City Boy Movement, Kogi State.

Also in attendance were the Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item of Abia State, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, as well as business magnate and politician, Alhaji Sherif Shagaya, Political Advisor to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Alhaji Saadudeen Salahudeen, Mallam Abdullahi AbdulMajeed, Hon. Ibrahim Akaje and other dignitaries.

Delivering the condolence message on behalf of the Movement, the North-Central Coordinator, Amb. Yahaya Seriki, conveyed the sympathy of the City Boy Movement to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. He said the Movement shared in the grief and pain of the government and people of the state over the tragic incident.

According to Seriki, the Movement commended the swift response of the Kwara State Government in mobilising security agencies and providing succour to the affected communities. He also praised the organisational strength and dedication of the Kwara State Coordinator of the Movement, Mallam Baba Abdulrauf Abdulrazaq, for his coordination and engagement at the state level.

Speaking earlier, the FCT Director of the Movement, Hon. Bitrus Laurence Garki, introduced members of the delegation to the Governor and explained that the visit was to formally commiserate with the state government and people of Kwara over the tragic loss of lives and to express solidarity during the difficult period.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, sympathised with the government and people of Kwara State, noting that the delegation was in the state on the directive and encouragement of Barrister Seyi Tinubu. He said Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the people of Kwara State and prayed for God’s continued protection over the state.“Barrister Seyi Tinubu sends his sympathy and prayers to the people of Kwara State, asking God to grant eternal rest to the departed, comfort to the bereaved families, and lasting peace to Kwara State and Nigeria at large,” Shoga said.

Responding, the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, appreciated the City Boy Movement for what he described as a thoughtful and timely show of solidarity with the government and people of the state.The Governor recounted that the state government, with the support of the Federal Government, responded swiftly to the attack by mobilising security agencies to the affected area. He disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the military to move in quickly to contain the situation and restore calm.

Abdulrazaq commended the efforts of the security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, the military, and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as well as other responders who provided support to victims during the crisis.

He also outlined measures taken by the state government to restore peace and prevent a recurrence of such attacks.
While reaffirming the commitment of his administration to the security and welfare of residents, the Governor pledged the support of the Kwara State Government to initiatives that promote peace, unity and political mobilisation, adding that the state would continue to work with stakeholders to ensure lasting stability across affected communities.

The condolence visit, according to the Movement, forms part of its broader commitment to community engagement, solidarity with victims of violence, and support for efforts aimed at strengthening peace and security across the country.
