DG NILDS Celebrates Former President Goodluck Jonathan  As a Selfless Leader on His Birthday

The Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, has paid glowing tribute to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, in celebration of his birthday.

In a heartfelt message personally signed by Professor Sulaiman described Dr. Jonathan as “a selfless leader of all times,” lauding his enduring contributions to Nigeria’s progress and global leadership. Reflecting on his own tenure as Minister of National Planning under Jonathan’s administration, Sulaiman expressed deep admiration and gratitude for the former president’s visionary leadership and mentorship.

“I join all Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike, both at home and in the diaspora, to celebrate Your Excellency on this year’s occasion of your specially remarkable birthday,” Professor Sulaiman stated. He further prayed for Dr. Jonathan’s continued good health, boundless energy, and divine wisdom to sustain his efforts in building a better Nigeria that fulfills the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers.

Recognizing the former president’s influence and global stature, the NILDS DG emphasized Jonathan’s contributions to Nigeria, Africa, and the broader international community. “You remain a great leader and mentor in whose administration I had the privilege to serve at a remarkable juncture in Nigeria’s history,” he said.

Dr. Jonathan, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2010 to 2015, is widely celebrated for his commitment to democracy, peacebuilding, and socio-economic development. On this special day, many across the globe join in honoring his legacy and continued service to humanity.
