Eko Mi Awards: Journalists Hangout Wins Best TV Program

 

…As TVC’s Journalist Hangout, Faleke, Lagos Commissioner, Others Win Prestigious Awards

A cheerful and passionate officer of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Oluwasegun Timothy on Thursday received cash donations of one million naira (N1million) and award at Eko Mi Awards.

The LASTMA Officer who is always dancing passionately while directing traffic in Lagos received award of excellence at maiden Eko Mi Awards held at Sheraton Hotel Ikeja on Thursday.

The emotional moments of the night was the decoration of the dancing LASTMA officer at Agidingbi, Mr. Adefolalu Timothy, who in appreciation of his effort, the MC, Gbenga Adeyinka called for donations of appreciation and Chief Bestman Nze-Jumbo donated N500,000 on behalf of the organizers.

Other dignitaries followed suit and at the end of the day, a total of N1.2m was raised for the officer.

The audience were treated to thrilling performances by comedians like MC Stylo, Prince Phelar and Chi Young, alongside musical acts by the veteran Jojo Body beat and Fabs, while the honorees delivered heartfelt acceptance speeches that left many in the audience inspired.

Among the highlights of the night was the presentation of the “Most Stylish King” award to King Saheed Elegushi, who was hailed for his impeccable sense of style and fashion. Other notable awardees included Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, Hakeem Smith, and Oniru, who were recognized for their contributions to their respective fields.

Other awardees include the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, TVC Journalists Hangout (TV Program of the year), Hon James Faleke (Politician of the year), Chief Segun Odegbami (MON) as Sports Icon of the Year.

In his welcome address, the Convener of the Award and Publisher of Eko Mi, Eko E, Otunba Bestman Nze Jumbo said the award ceremony was inspired by the way Lagos is being transformed daily, through government initiatives and the contributions of private organizations and individuals.

He reiterated Eko mi, Eko E Magazine’s commitment towards projecting Lagos positively and shining a searchlight on the various areas the government can further bring dividends of democracy to the people.
