The newly appointed Provost Designate Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene, Doctor Ibrahim Ismaila Mosimabale has been urged to continue to sustain his passion towards development and academic excellence.
The Chairman of the occasion in a dinner in honour of the Provost, Mr Gabriel Audu gave the charge at the event which was held in Lokoja.
Mr Audu who is also a Director at the Federal Character Commission said the appointment was a divine agenda for the institution considering the turf selection processes.
He maintained that Doctor Mosimabale is the first staff of the college to clinch the position, emphasizing that there is high expectations for a positive outcomes.
In a remark, a member Governing Council, Usman Waziri , Federal Polytechnic Binin Kebbi , Mr Musa Bakare urged the newly appointed Provost to maintain open door policy and prayed for God’s wisdom to pilot the affairs of the institution.
Similarly, the Director of Administration, State Office of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr David Elisha appealed to the Provost to carry everybody along.
While reading the citation of the Provost, a management staff of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Adeyemi Fakorede who delve into family, education and social life of the Provost, described him as a seasoned educator and administrator.
Also speaking at the event the Head of Department of Agriculture of the institution, Doctor Mrs Unice Unile Ene said the joyous occasion was to celebrate an icon in the academic circle and pray for a successful tenure.
Similarly, the Chief Executive Officer of Fotops Auto Services Lokoja Mr Ayedun Abiodun appealed to stakeholders rally round the Provost and offer useful suggestions for the advancement of the institution.
While responding, Doctor Mosimabale who personally address each person that grace the occasion, expressed gratitude to God for his divine favour.
Also present at the occasion were the former Chairman of Ogori Magongo Local Government Area, Doctor Mathew Keyi , immediate past Dean of Education, Federal College of Education Idah, Doctor B.S Adavre, Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, FCE Okene, Mrs Yusuf. Cecilia Ema among others.
