One of Alhaji Ikare’s most significant legacies was his ability to nurture and inspire the next generation of Islamic leaders. The present Chief Imam of Okoja, Ikare Akoko, Alhaji Abdulateef, was among the many who benefited from Alhaji Ikare’s tutelage, going on to become an esteemed scholar in his own right. Similarly, the Chief Imam of Iku, Alhaji Abubakar and countless others were molded by the wisdom and guidance of this revered figure.

In a world often plagued by division and strife, the upcoming Mawlid Nabiy celebration organized by Zawiyyatul-Amni Aliagan serves as a beacon of hope and unity. This annual event, which commemorates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), has become a much-anticipated gathering for the community, drawing in participants from far and wide.

This year’s theme, “Fostering National Socioeconomic Reconciliation and Healing: The Prophet’s Message of Forgiveness, Love, and Mercy,” resonates deeply with the current climate of our nation.

As we grapple with the challenges of social and economic divides, the message of the Prophet’s life serves as a timely reminder of the power of compassion, understanding, and unity.

Under the esteemed leadership of the late Sheikh Yaqub Daniyal Alabi Aliagan, the former Missioner of Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, Ikare, Zawiyyatul-Amni Aliagan has become a beacon of spiritual guidance and community engagement. This year’s event promises to be a profound and transformative experience, with an impressive lineup of guest speakers and scholars.

Headlining the event is the Hon. Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, the Grand Kadi of the Kwara State Sheri’ah Court of Appeal, Ilorin. His insight and expertise on the teachings of Islam will undoubtedly inspire and enlighten the attendees. Joining him are Dr. Mahmud Danjuma Musa, the founder of the Al-Maqam Academy for Qur’ān Memorization, Arabic, and Islamic Studies, and Sheikh Muhammad Jamiu Hanafi Gere, the Chief Imam of the High Court in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The event will also feature esteemed spiritual leaders, including Fadeelat Sheikh Imam Yaqub Aliagan, the Seriki Malamai of Ilorin, and Sheikh Sharafudeen Saadudeen Ajara, the Grand Mufti of the Tijaniyyah in Kwara State. The Mogaji Aliagan, Alhaji Abdulsalam Oba Daniyal, and the Chief Missioner of Ikwatul-Islam, Mushin, Lagos, Khalifat Muhammad Yaqub Aliagan, will serve as the Chief Host, respectively. Alhaji Yakub Missioner Aliagan and His Legacy of Faith

Alhaji Yakub Daniyal, affectionately known as Alhaji Ikare, a renowned Islamic scholar whose impact on the community would be felt for generations to come.

Alhaji Ikare’s journey began as the pioneer missionary of the Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, Ikare branch. Through his unwavering dedication and scholarly prowess, he rose to become the Chief Imam of the Ilorin indigenes in the entire Ondo State. But his influence extended far beyond his official roles, as he dedicated himself to the task of enlightening the people of Akokoland about the true essence of Islam.

One of Alhaji Ikare’s most significant legacies was his ability to nurture and inspire the next generation of Islamic leaders. The present Chief Imam of Okoja, Ikare Akoko, Alhaji Abdulateef, was among the many who benefited from Alhaji Ikare’s tutelage, going on to become an esteemed scholar in his own right. Similarly, the Chief Imam of Iku, Alhaji Abubakar and countless others were molded by the wisdom and guidance of this revered figure.

But Alhaji Ikare’s impact was not limited to his role as a teacher. He was also deeply committed to the stability and growth of the Islamic community in Ikare and Ugbe Akoko. When the Chief Imam of the Hausa community in Sabo, Ugbe Akoko passed away, Alhaji Ikare was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the community, a testament to the trust and respect he had earned over the years.

Even in his later years, Alhaji Ikare remained a pillar of the community, tirelessly delivering Tafsir (Quranic exegesis) at the Ikare Central Mosque and the Central Mosque of the Hausa community in Sabo, Ugbe Akoko simutenously. His unwavering dedication and profound understanding of the Quran and Hadith inspired and guided countless worshippers, who sought his wisdom and counsel.

As the sun set on Alhaji Ikare’s earthly journey, the legacy he left behind shone brighter than ever. His life’s work had not only strengthened the Islamic faith in Ikare Akoko and Akokoland but had also fostered a deeper appreciation for the pursuit of knowledge and the importance of spiritual guidance.

Today, his students and the community he served continue to honor his memory, ensuring that the light he ignited will continue to illuminate the path for generations to come.
