Dr. Maida’s illustrious career spans roles at top global firms, including British Telecom, Cisco Systems, and EE Ltd. He also played a pivotal role in the engineering team of UbiquiSys Ltd., a small-cell technology pioneer acquired by Cisco Systems.
Prior to his appointment as the NCC’s EVC, Dr. Maida served as the Executive Director of Technology and Operations at Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems PLC (NIBSS). There, he spearheaded the modernization of Nigeria’s digital payments ecosystem, which has since become the backbone of the nation’s financial infrastructure.
Dr. Maida’s academic credentials are as impressive as his professional achievements. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, an MEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from Cambridge Judge Business School.
