Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya out of his commitment to Girl child education made a passionate appeal to World Bank for the total overhaul of the existing 8 girls schools under the AGILE Project.

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has been described as a champion of Girl child education.
A former member of the House of representatives, Hon Aishatu Jibir Dukku commended the Governor during the opening ceremony of a 5- Day School Based Management Committee Training of Master trainers held at the ICT Park of the Gombe State University today.

AGILE Project described that the former lawmaker said Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration since inception has been focussing attention to the education sector through various policies and programs to reposition the sector.
Hon Aishatu Dukku further added that the education of Girl child is a collective responsibility and therefore charged stakeholders to put all hands on deck by supporting the initiatives of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in achieving success in that regard.
In a remark while declaring the program open, the Hon Commissioner of Education Prof Aishatu Umar Maigari said the participation of Gombe State Government into the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE Project was made possible as a result of the political will of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the benefit of Girl child in the state.
Prof Aishatu Maigari added that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya out of his commitment to Girl child education made a passionate appeal to World Bank for the total overhaul of the existing 8 girls schools under the AGILE Project.
In his contribution, the Special Adviser on Donor partners Coordination, Dr. Ishiyaku Babayo Ibrahim said AGILE Project is one of the programs that Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is monitoring with enthusiasm towards it’s full implementation for the benefit of the Adolescent Girls in the State.
He therefore, called on the participants to take the assignment with all seriousness in the interest of the state.
Earlier, the project coordinator Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul took the participants through the project’s objectives and call for contributions towards achieving the set goals of the project.
The participants for the training were drawn from tertiary institutions across the state by the consulting firm, Homesmith Engineering Limited in collaboration with the Gombe State AGILE Project.
