Human Rights Group Hails CSP Benjamin Hundeyin’s Appointment as Nigeria Police Force PRO, Commends IGP Egbetokun’s Vision for Reform

Guard Time Information, Human Rights Activists Nationwide, has extended heartfelt congratulations to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin on his appointment as the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja, FCT.

Speaking during a meeting with human rights activists in Abuja on 7th September 2025, the Chairman of the group, Mr. Bibi Oduku, warmly commended the appointment, describing CSP Hundeyin as “a man of honour.” He recalled his professional acquaintance with him during his service under DCP Frank Mba, former Force PRO, and expressed strong confidence that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D, will not regret entrusting him with such a vital role.

Mr. Oduku further appreciated the Inspector General of Police for identifying and appointing CSP Hundeyin to this sensitive position, describing the decision as an affirmation of the IGP’s commitment to rebranding the Nigeria Police Force and delivering a service that aligns with international best practices. He also emphasized that Guard Time Information, Human Rights Activists Nationwide, looks forward to collaborating with the Police Public Relations Office to strengthen human rights development programmes and promote effective communication between the police and the public.

Also speaking at the meeting, Barrister (Mrs.) Alice Wowuota Iwara, Head of Women and Children Affairs (Abuja FCT), affirmed her belief that CSP Benjamin Hundeyin will serve as a strong advocate for the safety and security of women and children in Abuja and across Nigeria. She stressed that women and children are central to the progress of every society, underscoring the need for synergy across various sectors to protect their rights. She described CSP Hundeyin as a diligent and respected officer who performs his duties with integrity, in the best interest of citizens, and to the honour of the Nigeria Police Force.
