Kwara LG bosses endorse Mustapha for APC chairmanship
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accredited 51 observer groups for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections slated for Saturday, February 12, 2022.
INEC, in a bulletin released yesterday, in Abuja, said it approved 50 domestic organisations and one international organisation to monitor the election.
It stressed the need for observers to fully comply with its COVID-19 Policy on Election and Accreditation of observers, including signing of the indemnity form and provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all field observers.
The commission warned that failure to comply with the policy would lead to immediate withdrawal of accreditation.
It added that the distribution of domestic observer kits, including identity cards, to individual observers would be done at the FCT INEC office between February 3 and 11.
IN another development, chairmen of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 16 local councils of Kwara State have endorsed Saliu Mustapha for the National Chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mustapha was Deputy National Chairman of CPC before it fused with the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and a faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to form the APC.
Rising from their yearly get-together in Ilorin, yesterday, the former CPC local council chairmen said they believed in the capacity of Mustapha to lead the APC at the national level.
