From Ibrahim Mainasara, Kaduna,
In Kaduna, at the start of the Local Government polls, electronics voting machine faced a little hiccups by failing to accredit some voters but later picked up and the local government elections went on smoothly as voters were accredited in record time and cast their votes
Governor Nasir El Rufai, who voted at Angwan Sarkin Polling Station, expressed satisfaction with the voting. The Governor added that what was more important was the transparency of the process and not the victory of his party, the All Progressives Congress.
El Rufai, who was accredited and voted at about 1:09 pm, said due to security reports, election could not hold in two local council, Kaura and Jaba.
The Governor who spoke shortly after casting his vote, he said although there were initial hiccups with electronic voting machines, the problems were resolved and votes were going on smoothly.
Our reporter visited some polling stations in Barnawà, it was discovered that electoral officials were late as voters waited in long queues. There were no reports of violence in any part of the state even as voters hailed the introduction of electronic voting
