1 Mins read

Various Youth Organisations across the three Senatorial District of Kogi State have added their voices to demand for the participation of Late Prince Abubarkar Audu’s Son, Shuaibu Audu in the next gubernatorial election.

The Youths group who gathered in Lokoja unanimously declared their solidarity for Shuaibu Audu whom they described as a Youth ambassador based on his passion to restore the dignity of the youths.

Speaking at the venue of the event, the president of the Movement for Youths Emancipation, Comrade Aliu Obaje said the dynasty of Late Prince Abubarkar Audu must be preserved, hence the need to consider his lineage particularly the one who had understudied his leadership qualities.

He described Shuaibu Audu as a technocrat with uncommon passion to uplift people irrespective of tribe and primordial sentiments.

Comrade Obaje called on youths to support Shuaibu and described his father as the architect of Kogi infrastructural development.

Also speaking at the occasion, the State Chairman of Okun Youths Forum, Mr Makanjuola Ayoriyo said the state needs a leader that will link up with global communities to facilitate development.

Similarly, the Chairperson of Kogi Women Forum, Mrs Rukayat Ahmed who explained that she had been an ardent supporter of Late Audu urged politicians to reflect on the sacrifice he made as the leader of major opposition party since the inception of democracy in the state.

Responding through a telephone conversation, Mr Shuaibu Audu expressed appreciation to the various Youths groups saying he was grateful that the people noticed his modest contribution to the society.

On the request to partake in the next election, Mr Shuaibu Audu said he has learnt a lot from his father who was also a banker like him.

He said his foundational assistance to the people; particularly the underprivileged is to continue the legacies laid by his father.

He advised youths to remain focused, law abiding and be committed to the progress of the society saying the negative news of killings, kidnapping and harm robbery in the state is undesirable.
