Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Mr Wemi Jones says the Ministry of Education will continue to implement the domesticated policy of the federal government in accordance to the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Wemi Jones who gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja said, the present administration is bent on reduction of poverty through education and warned against any attempt to truncate the system or vision.
He described formal academic activities as an evolving procedures that operates within the time frame of resumption, mid term break, terminal examination, final closure and holiday.
The Commissioner maintained that the State will continue to stick to its academic calendar and avoid unwarranted disruptions.
He also warned against those attempting to frustrate the free education policy of the state which has recorded a significant success emphasizing that such attempt will be accompanied by punitive measure from the state government.
On Technical and Vocational Training in the State, Wemi Jones assured that Kogi State will continue to sustain its standard and improved where necessary.
He said the state has four technical colleges situated in Ankpa, Idah, Okehi and Mopa, and promised to work with stakeholders to ensure that the colleges benefit from the financial intervention targeted towards improving the enrollment of people in the institutions .
The Commissioner said the Ministry and Federal Government delegates have recently moved round the institutions to ascertained the accreditations of all courses by the National Board of Technical Education as well as other requirements for the intervention.
