Kogi NUT Felicitates Members at Christmas, Urges Support for Gov. Ododo, Deputy Oyibo

The Kogi State Wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has extended warm Christmas greetings to its members and the entire teaching community across the state, while calling for prayers, commitment and support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his deputy, Comrade Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo.

This is contained in a statement was signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Union, Comrade Hassan A. Jonathan.

The Union made the call in a Christmas message issued on December 25, 2025, by its State Chairman, Comrade Ayoola Abayomi, during a message delivered in his hometown, Yagba East Local Government Area.

Comrade Abayomi urged teachers to reflect on the essence of the Christmas season, describing it as a period that symbolizes hope, peace and renewed faith. He encouraged members of the Union and other citizens of the state to use the occasion to pray fervently for the success of the current administration.

According to him, the progress and overall welfare of Kogi State are closely tied to the success of the Governor Ododo-led government. He expressed confidence in the leadership capacity of Governor Ododo and Deputy Governor Oyibo, noting that their commitment to education and human capital development would play a critical role in shaping a better future for the state.

The NUT chairman also called on stakeholders to support government policies and programmes, stressing that peace, unity and collaboration are essential ingredients for sustainable development in Kogi State.

Reaffirming the Union’s position, Comrade Abayomi said the Nigeria Union of Teachers remains ready to partner constructively with the state government to strengthen the education sector and improve the welfare of teachers.
