Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Kwara State Chapter has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the 8th National Assembly over the signing of “Not too Young to rule” bill into law.

The forum in a statement signed by its acting Chairman, Comrade Ishaq Kazeem Elewure and its secretary Comrade Abdullah Tunde Ishola, described the bill as a landmark achievement.

Comrade Kazeem Elewure, said with the signing of the bill, youth can now achieve anything they conceive if they work hard at it.

According to him, the new law lowers the constitutional age limits for aspirants to presidential and legislative positions in the country, as clamoured for by majority of young Nigerians.

He explained that President Buhari and president of the senate distinguished Dr Bukola Saraki (CON) had demonstrated good leadership style by listening to the yearnings and aspirations of the masses.

The acting Chairman said the signing of the bill was not the end of the journey but a big challenge for youth by ensuring that they continue to remain focus in order to get into government.

Comrade Elewure, while commending the signing of the Not Too Young To Run bill, urged the federal government to also addressed the cost of running for election and the level of poverty in the country.

He therefore congratulated the young people over the signing of the bill, and urged them to be more enterprising and self-sustaining.

The AYCF acting Chairman also encouraged Nigerian youths to continue to advocate for free and fair elections, and implored them to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
