Edo born and Africa’s most consistent movie maker and Cultural Ambassador, Chief Dr. Lancelot Oduwarene Imasuen’s led International Students Film Festival, ISFF, will be honoring some prominent Nigerians at the inaugural edition of International award ceremony.
Known for celebrating legends, honoring prominent Nigerians who has given and are still giving back to the people, Lancelot Imasuen over the weekend at the prestigious premier University, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State from Thursday October 12 to Sunday 15th, 2023.
One of those to be honored is Princess Rosemary Osula Mku-Atu; the founder and president of Rosula Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that has become the harbinger of hope for thousands – struggling with socio-economic challenges around the world.
An epitome of beauty and brain, Princess Mku-Atu has been variously described as an accomplished business mogul, a role model extraordinaire, an educationist par excellence, and an invaluable African-doting mother, whose life has become, in our times, the true definition of a mother’s sacrifices.
Princess Mku-Atu who as we speak has over 5,000 indigent students under her scholarship scheme has demonstrated a renewed hope and a massive way of nurturing the young ones through her life and dedication to uplifting the lives of others. Her social interventions have received accolades both within and outside Nigeria and Africa at large, particularly in local communities where living has become almost unbearable.
These were some of the reasons why ISFF is honoring her as a grandpatron of this movement that will see the young ones finding their roots in the development of Nigeria.
Aside Dr. Rosula, many other prominent Nigerians who has excelled in their various field of endeavors will be honored and bestowed on grand patronship award. Those in this category includes; Legendary Nollywood Star Actor, Chief Pete Edochie; a movie legend who has featured and produced different hit movies.
Former Governor, Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion; a philanthropist, educationist, an accomplished businessman and politician; Legendary Nollywood Director, Andy Amenechi; Legendary Nollywood Actor, Francis Onwochei; Legendary Nollywood Actor, Zik Zulu Okafor; Legendary Nollywood Producer; Sir Rob Emeka Eze.
Lancelot Imasuen’s ISFF will also be honoring Legendary Nollywood Actor; Sam Dede; Nollywood Star Actor, Sanni Muazu; and Legendary Nollywood Star Actress and movie amazon Joke Silva, as Patrons of the world’s acclaimed award.
Starting from Thursday October 12 to Sunday 15th, 2023; over 250 student made films have been submitted from across the globe; including Nigeria, Ghana, Cameron, Kenya, Spain and many others. Also, the management of ISFF has after a robust scrutiny selected four Jury Members who were Nollywood scholars and practitioners from various Institutions and Film institutes for the movies screening.
And these Jury members, after a meticulous assessment of the films have presented 37 films selected from Africa and 22 from outside Africa for screening.
The highlight of the event will be the award presentation, which would be endowed by Nollywood legends and prominent Edo sons and daughters, namely, Captain Dr. Hosa Okunbo Memorial Award for Best Student Overall Film. Chico Ejiro Memorial Award for Best Student Director, Sadiq Baba, HRM Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, Liz Benson and several others.
