For the country to attain enviable heights, we must shun acts that will divide the country.

National president of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Alhaji Dr Musa Mohammed (Maitakobi 1), has urged Nigerians to be steadfast, patriotic and optimistic ahead of the new year.
The National President, who made the call during a media chat with newsmen in Abuja, said the faithfulness of God has uphold us as a nation to witness another new year celebration and it is expected of Nigerians to be more faithful and dedicated to Almighty.
He said: “as we approach the new year, it is imperative that we thank God and to reflect on our achievements and challenges as individuals and as a nation.
“No doubt, 2023 was a year of sober reflection and celebrations.
“For the country to attain enviable heights, we must shun acts that will divide the country.
“The time is now for Nigerians regardless of political, ethnic and religious differences to sustain peace and harmony in a bid to build a just society.”
He said that no country could thrive in an atmosphere of disharmony.
“Nigeria’s cultural, ethnic and religious diversity must be harnessed for growth and progress of the country.
“We must not allow political or religious sentiments to take Nigeria backward.
“Let us engage people in government in constructive criticisms as against hate speech and campaign of calumny.
“In the new year, we must imbibe good moral conduct in our daily pursuits for the sake of peace and unity”.
Speaking further, he stressed that the faithfulness of God has sustained many that travelled within the country by road as no record of much accidents was recorded on the roads in 2023.
Maitakobi 1, who condole with the people of plateau over the recent killing on the Eve of Christmas, said the administration of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu is pulling every string in making sure that banditry, terrorism and kidnapping will become a thing of the past in Nigeria
Musa Mohammed also call on Nigerians to drum support for the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu led-administration, noting that within the shortest period of things will take a new shape.
Musa, however, admonish drivers and other road users to avoid drinking while driving during this period of celebration calling on road users to stay away from such as they return to their various destination after celebrations with their loved ones.
Maitakobi, who also spoke on the commitment of his association in ensuring law and order in it areas of operation with the public, said road transport employers association of Nigeria Nationwide today is different from what Nigerians used to know in the past as all members around the 36 states and federal capital territory is captured in their data base.
