More Applause for Obaseki, as 5000 Edo Professionals Endorse Him for Second Term

No fewer than 5000 professionals under the aegis of Edo State Professionals for Development have endorsed Governor Godwin Obaseki for second term.

The Chairman of Edo State Professionals for Development, Engr Osato Osareme via a statement issued on Tuesday, in Benin, said Governor Godwin Obaseki has implemented quality and impactful projects across 18 local government areas of the state.

He noted the governor is building strong and viable economy for Edo state through tax reforms as well as elimination of thuggery in revenue collection chain.

The Statement read: ”Governor Godwin Obaseki is a blessing to Edo State. He is putting the state on the world map with his innovative and people-friendly policies. The governor’s strategy in Agriculture is yielding good results by providing job opportunities for youth and more income in the hands of farmers.

”The EdoBest agenda aimed at uplifting standard of education in the state has attracted commendation from many Nigerians and development partners.

Recently, Lagos State Governor, Babajode Sanwo-Olu gives credit to Governor Godwin Obaseki for pioneering transformative system of education (Edobest). Our governor is making us proud worldwide as other states in Nigeria are adopting the model widely.

”Governor Godwin Obaseki has also completed new Secretariat abandoned for more than 30 years. He has created conducive work environment for civil servants and improved their welfare in order to boost their productive.

”Furthermore, the newly reconstructed Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City with Football pitch, One Olympic-size swimming pool and a practice pool, Four practice lawn tennis courts, One standard lawn tennis court, complete with spectators’ stand, In-door sports hall for Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Two squash courts, A gymnasium, Press centre and VAR-enabled created business opportunities for our members. Majority of our members participated in the reconstruction process and earning legitimate income.”

The Edo State Professionals for Development promised to mobilize support for Governor Godwin Obaseki reelection to allow him continue his good works for Edo people, noting majority of the state residents are appreciative of the governor’s approach to governance and development

He noted that Edo people are political conscious and savvy, and as such, abhor a situation where a purported godfather fritters away the collective patrimony of the state in the guise of political structure and patronage.

“Governance should be most importantly about performance and delivery of good dividends of democracy to the people through people friendly policies and projects. In this regard, Governor Obaseki has been outstanding. He should be allowed to complete his agenda for the people. “

Commenting on the certificate issue, he said: ” The Court has cleared that to all. We knew all along that Obaseki is a decent man. A man already with genuine multiple Master degrees. They were just holding on to straws in a bid to frustrate him, unfortunately, they failed over and over again.”
