
The N-Youth Sports Academy (N-YSA) has consistently and continued to break new ground in Nigerian sports development, producing top-notch athletes and teams that have excelled at both national and international competitions.
N-YSA successful stories were not achieved on the platter of golf but as a result of dedication, hardwork, motivation and full commitment which had enabled them to provide talented young athletes with opportunities to shine.
However, this remarkable feat to clinch several medals in their respective events was made possible through partnerships with Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) Nizamiye Hospital, (students of Nigerian Tulip International Colleges).
N-YSA’s innovative approach and dedication to youth development have made it a beacon for sports excellence in Nigeria and beyond. The academy has continued to scout and support talented young Nigerians, shaping the future of Nigerian sports.
The academy achievements included multiple medals at the 1st African School Games; Clean sweep at the African U18/U20 Championships; Success at the U-17 Lycée Français Louis Pasteur Taekwondo Championship; Silver medal at the Loyola Basketball School competition 2025.
Moreover, the 1st African School Games comes to a joyous end as Nigerian athletes under scholarship scheme of N-YSA student-athletes, Miracle Ezechukwu Oluebube and Rosemary Chigozie Nwankwo among other sprinters concluded the Olympic-styled event, finishing with impressive medals.
The successes included Miracle Ezechukwu Oluebube winning 200m gold; 100m silver; medley relay, gold, while Rosemary Chigozie Nwankwo won 100m gold; 200m, gold; medley relay gold.
In the same vein, taekwondo athlete, Unique Kamsiyonna Umeh also blazed bronze medal in the African School Games held in Algeria from August 1- 4, 2025.
The third combined African U-18/U-20 Championships in Abeokuta, Ogun State ,16th- 20th July 2025, produced what will go down in history as the biggest moment in the continent’s athletics following Team Nigeria’s clean sweep in the girls’ 100m U-18 final.
It is no longer news that Miracle Ezechukwu blazed to gold in 11.88secs, followed by captain of the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA) at the 22nd National Sports Festival, Rosemary Nwankwo (11.96secs).
Perhaps, what might be of major interest to athletics loving Nigerians is how the duo of Miracle Ezechukwu and Rosemary Nwankwo made their way into the nation’s athletics.
While celebrating inside the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, the scenario attracted the attention of many spectators.
The athletics story of both Miracle Ezechukwu and Rosemary Nwankwo began in 2019 in Ilorin, when they were spotted by officials of NTIC sport (N-Youth Sports Academy) and offered scholarship into Nigerian Tulip International Colleges and N-Youth Sports Academy respectively.
At the 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged ‘Gateway Games 2025’ in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the athletes competed in their first ever sports festival under a new umbrella of the National Sports Commission programme as invited junior athletes few years after joining the academy.
Within the short time, the likes of Chigozie Rosemary Nwankwo, Adaeze Ezeh Precious (Athletics), Unique Kamsiyonna Umeh, Crown Umeh and Andrew Miracle (Taekwondo) and Chinedu Levi Dominic (Football) made tremendous progress in their field of sports.
Rosemary Nwankwo emerged as the fastest U-18 Nigerian athlete in 2025, been the first time on the highest world ranking system.
N-Youth Sports Academy put on a brilliant display at the U-17 Lycée Français Louis Pasteur Taekwondo Championship, clinching a total of four medals comprising of three gold and one bronze in an outstanding performance.
Andrew Miracle, in the 59kg category, had a bye into the semi-finals but narrowly lost to the eventual winner of the weight class, earning a well-deserved bronze medal.
Crown, fought in the -37kg cadet division, also started with a bye and followed it up with two dominant victories to clinch another gold for the academy.
The standout male fighter, Ziorani Buchim was the sole male representative of N-Youth Academy. Competed with great skill and determination, he had a bye in the first round and proceeded to win three consecutive fights, ultimately taking home the gold medal.
Unique, who competed in the under 51kg junior category was on bye in the opening round and went on to win two strong matches to secure the gold medal.
With this impressive medal haul three gold and one bronze. N-Youth Academy continued to prove itself as a force in youth taekwondo. The competition took place on Saturday (14th June, 2024) in Lagos State.
True to prediction, basketball student-players got more than they bargained for as participating schools in this year’s Loyola basketball school competition gave a very good account of themselves. Nigerian Tulip International College/N-YSA student-players emerged second in the midst of several schools winning a silver medal in the competition.
Peter Edokpolor, a graduate of N-Youth Sports/Nigerian Tulip International Colleges is currently playing with Team B of Benfica Football Club in Portugal. He was signed officially in January 2025.
