Ndume Spoke, Tinubu Listened: UADD Hails Bold Leadership, Inclusive Appointments

1 Mins read

A civil society group, United Arewa in Diversity for Development (UADD), has lauded Senator Ali Ndume for his steadfastness and bold advocacy in calling out the imbalance in federal appointments, praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking steps to correct the trend.

In a statement jointly signed by its Executive Director, Jamil Bala Muhammed, and National Secretary, Abdulrahman Aliagan, UADD described Senator Ndume as a courageous patriot who stood firm in defense of justice, equity, and fairness during a period when many public figures chose silence.

“We recall Senator Ndume’s earlier bold stance in calling out the lopsided nature of federal political appointments under the administration of President Tinubu. At a time when many chose silence, he stood tall and spoke truth to power—not for personal gain, but for the sake of fairness and national unity,” the group stated.

The organization noted that the recent wave of appointments of Northerners into key federal parastatals and agencies is evidence that President Tinubu has listened to constructive criticism and responded appropriately.

“We commend President Tinubu for demonstrating statesmanship and inclusiveness by taking steps to address the imbalance. It reflects a commitment to the Federal Character principle and inclusive governance,” UADD said.

While acknowledging the progress made, the group urged the President to stay the course and continue building a government that reflects the diversity of Nigeria.

“Mr. President must remember that he is the leader of the entire nation, not of a region, party, or group. Every Nigerian, regardless of background, must feel represented and included,” the statement concluded.

UADD reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, unity, justice, and sustainable development across Nigeria through advocacy and constructive engagement.
