The Not Too Young To Perform (NTYTP) Leadership Development Advocacy has congratulated Chief Ogheneovo Edewor on his appointment to the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), describing the development as a significant endorsement of the party’s commitment to internal democracy and inclusive leadership.
The organisation said the appointment reflects the YPP’s consistent demonstration that political parties can uphold their constitutions, promote merit, and provide platforms that recognise both experience and youth-driven innovation. NTYTP noted that Chief Edewor’s elevation mirrors the core values of credibility, service, and progressive leadership that it promotes across Nigeria.
In the statement signed by NTYTP’s National Secretary, Arc. Bello Muhammed, the organisation emphasised that “Chief Edewor’s elevation to the BOT is not only a recognition of his distinguished contributions to the YPP, but also a clear signal that internal party democracy remains a viable pathway for building credible and productive leadership.”
NTYTP urged political parties nationwide—regardless of ideology or size—to strengthen adherence to their constitutions and uphold transparent decision-making processes. It warned that Nigeria’s democratic health relies on political parties functioning as genuine leadership incubators rather than platforms controlled by a select few.
The statement also reaffirmed NTYTP’s longstanding advocacy for intentional youth inclusion within party structures. It called on all political parties to create clearly defined pathways for young people to participate in leadership, benefit from mentorship, and contribute meaningfully to governance processes.
“We call on all political parties to create special spaces for young people to learn the art and act of leadership through structured participation in party organs and decision-making processes,” Arc. Muhammed said. “The YPP has demonstrated that this is possible, and we encourage other parties across the country to adopt and deepen similar reforms.”
NTYTP reiterated its commitment to promoting youth leadership development, strengthening democratic institutions, and supporting political parties that embrace transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.
