NUJ Gombe Declares Comrade Alhassan for National President

The State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has purchased and presented presidential nomination form to the Deputy National President of the Union, Comrade Alhassan who is contesting for the office of the National President.

Presenting the form to Comrade Alhassan Yahaya at the reception room of Gombe Media Corporation, today, the state council chairman, Comrade Faruk Mu’azu Gombe said the gesture is reciprocal to Comrade Alhassan Yahaya’s contribution to the profession and his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of journalism in Nigeria.
Faruk Mu’azu explained that his leadership skills, vision, and passion for the union’s progress makes him the best and right candidate for the NUJ number one seat
He called on bonafide practicing Journalists to canvass support to Alhassan/Abimgbola ticket for betterment of their welfare and progress of the union.
Also speaking some veterans in the pen profession, Comrade Danjuma Kala and Asaneth Silas Paris said Alhassan Yahaya is the most qualified candidate for NUJ going by the experience he gathered being the longest serving member of the NWC and as the only person to have served from Secretary to Chairman of the council; National Ex-offio to Zonal Vice President down to Deputy National President.
They  expressed confidence in Alhassan Yahaya’s blueprint aimed at turning around the fortunes of the NUJ.
Responding , the Deputy National President and National President candidate, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya expressed appreciation to the state council for the show of solidarity and the confidence members have in him.
Comrade Alhassan Yahaya said the love and show of solidarity concern shown to him by members of Fourth Estate of the Realm , assuring not to let them down.
Yahaya as the longest serving member of the National Working Committee (NWC) ,if voted into office ,he would ensure that welfare of the members tops his priority,in addition to training and re-training; re-entry suction of Insurance Scheme and many more.
While calling for prayers, the Deputy National President assured to use his office to bring unprecedented developments to the door steps of members.
The Triennial Conference is scheduled for Owerri, the seat of power of Imo State in November this year.
