Ohuabunwa urges Nigerians to be hopeful for rebirth of new country

3Former Chairman of Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has urged Nigerians to be hopeful and watchful for the rebirth of a new Nigeria.

Ohuabunwa who is hopeful of a presidential nod from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated that the chances of his party in 2023 are high, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed woefully compared to the 16 years reign of PDP.

Ohuabunawa spoke at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, when a political group, Coalition of All Nigeria Support Groups (COANG), led by its national chairman, Comrade Mark Iheanyi and members of New Nigeria Group (NNG), came to welcome him after his return from the United Kingdom.

Ohuabunuwa noted that it was time Nigeria desist from the old method of doing things, adding that the country is currently going through a transition to indicate that the old Nigeria is about to expire and a new country is on its way.

He said: “The chances of the PDP are brighter than ever because Nigeria has tried another party and they now know the difference between June and July. When you try something, you may think it’s not good enough, and then you try another and you discover that the new one is worse than the one you had before, you can imagine.

“The country has been going round in circles; there is need for a new concept in politics; the concept of sacrificial politics, politics of ideas and ideologies; the concept of politics that is focused for the good of the people not for individuals.”

Speaking on his chances in the presidential race, Ohuabunuwa said, “One with God is majority. My chances are higher than most of the contestants because some people trust their horses, some trust their chariots but we trust the name of our Lord. And I don’t think any power is bigger than the power of God, He is the owner of the gold, the silver, the cattle in a thousand hills, he runs this earth, he gives the kingdom to whomever He wants. The days of wickedness are over; we are now in a new era where God is in control.

“My message for Nigerians is that they should be hopeful, watchful and also working because it is in our hands and God has revealed what he wants to do. So, it is in our hands to work with God to take it. If we are complacent and participate in the old methods of doing things we will go nowhere. We will end up right back from where we started.”
