Chief Returning Officer of the Osun State 2022 primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, yesterday, declared Senator Ademola Adeleke winner of the exercise.

Ewhrudjakpo, who represented Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri at the poll, said Adeleke defeated other contestants. He said: “The process went without any hitch. 1,916 delegates were accredited to vote. At the end of the voting, Ademola Jackson Adeleke got 1,887. Babadele Adeleke got one. Fatai Akinbade had nil. Dotun Babayemi got nil. Akin Ogunbiyi got nil and Sanya Omirin got four. There were 24 invalid votes.

“By the power conferred on me as Chief Returning Officers of the 2022 Osun State PDP governorship primary, I declare Ademola Adeleke the governorship candidate of our party.”

He stressed that the primary was the only authentic one and that the national leadership of PDP and officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were at the event.

Reacting to his victory, Adeleke said: “We are all winners. Let’s come together and rescue the state. People are suffering under the current APC government. PDP will win by a landslide and reclaim our stolen mandate.”
